"...and I will make justice the plumb line, and righteousness the level;
then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
and the waters will overflow the secret place."
Isaiah 28:17

Not that this is the first evidence we have that the left’s outrage concerning uncivil language in the public square was completely disingenuous, or even the strongest, but…

The demonstrations in Wisconsin over relatively sensible cuts in union budgets has the leftists there showing their true faces. It does not take much to do this, as the viciousness of progressives lies very shallowly below the surface; their civility is a thin veneer covering seething masses of bile and ill will. Their progressive dreams are bankrupting the Western world, and the least suggestion that they should be made to live, not within their means, but within perhaps an order of magnitude over their means, evokes screeching like that from a cranky toddler.

The Republican party of Wisconsin put together a montage juxtaposing the faux outrage of the political left over harsh rhetoric with the reality of how they protest even the mild, sensible cuts required by Wisconsin’s fiscal nightmare — a nightmare brought on by the delusions of progressives. Watch (1:34):

The biggest of the Big Lies from the leftists in that montage comes from Bill Maher, who, with straight but bloated face, spoke precisely the opposite of the truth. Nobody on the right talks about how much fun it would be to kill our opponents. Virtually all of that sort of talk comes from the left. It can be found daily on the Daily Kos, Huffington Post, and the Democratic Underground. It can be found at any demonstration against any Republican politician; nobody has to manufacture instances, the way progressives have tried to do to discredit Tea Party activists. It can be found in the still-present flood of Internet references to “Bushitler,” the still-common references to Dick Cheney as Hitler or the devil, the cartoons and comments about Sarah Palin… And notice how progressives always, always take their demonstrations to the politician’s home, terrorizing his family and disturbing private neighborhoods.

By the same token, all the vicious, black-hating talk I’ve heard in the last 30 years has come from the left as well, as well as all the vicious, woman-hating talk, the vicious, Hispanic-hating talk, and the vicious, Jew-hating talk. They haven’t banished those things; they’ve just reserved them for conservative blacks, women, Hispanics, and Jews. Through one side of their mouths, they call conservatives racist and insist that we intend to drag women back into the kitchen, but through the other side of their mouths, they tell minority groups “You’re still subject to all the hatred you always used to face — unless you serve our political interests.”

Theirs is not the politics of civil public discourse, but rather the politics of personal destruction. They have given themselves over to evil.

And by the way: if this is how they respond to relatively modest budget cuts, what are they going to do when somebody actually starts to cut the budget down to the place it truly needs to be?

“what are they going to do when somebody actually starts to cut the budget down to the place it truly needs to be?”

Very good question. Obama wants a Security Force that is equal to the military in force and funds…wonder why?

For the most part, Progs are anti-gun. So…does that mean they will back down if Conservatives pick up their weapons?

My guess is that they will enlist those blacks and hispanics to do their dirty fighting for them.

I fear it won’t turn out well. They have tasted the power of victory in the polls, and they aren’t about to relinquish it just because they _lost_ in the polls. Elections – to them – are only expressions of the will of the people if they also agree with them.

I don’t think it wise to debate this topic with you Phil, except to point out that over the course of our online relationship, you have called me a “liar,” an “evil person” and all sorts of terrible things – while I have always remained civil towards you.

Read your post again and ask yourself just who is demonizing his political opponents?

Pot calling the kettle black? Think about it.

I can’t help it if the truth is uncomplimentary to you, Joe. The truth is still the truth, and I’ve always told the truth.

And besides that, if I had a nickel for every time I’ve called you one of those things, I could buy myself a little penny candy, whereas if I had a nickel for every time you’ve brought it up, I could buy us both coffee at Starbucks. I recognize passive-aggression when I see it. You’re not nearly so civil as you pretend to be.

It occurs to me to ask: what the heck does my calling Joe Huster a liar when he lies, have to do with union goons in Wisconsin carrying signs comparing the governor to Hitler for advocating benefit cuts?

I could be the meanest cuss in the world; that would not make it appropriate for the left to screech about civility on one day, and then behave the way they’re behaving in Wisconsin on another.

Because they’re Progressives. Rules don’t apply to them – just Conservatives. That’s because to Progressives, there are no rules other than “whatever it takes to win”. Conservatives actually have moral values, so Progrssives like to stymie them by claiming that they’re violating those values, and hence prevent them from taking any action or making any statements that would prevent the Progressives from attaining their goals.

See Lenin, Alinsky etc…

You know…like calling Herman Caine a racist because he criticizes Obama…

(insert gut splitting laughter here)

By the way Phil, you might want to talk to Suek about her violence suggesting, racist rhetoric.

“By the way Phil, you might want to talk to Suek about her violence suggesting, racist rhetoric.”

You mean where she posits that progressives may be counting on Hispanics and blacks to conduct their violence for them? She suggests no violence that I can see — “if” denotes a hypothetical in English, if you’ll recall — and I also don’t see how it’s racist to observe that Hispanics and blacks, as groups, do not voice the same faux “peace” rhetoric as mainstream progressives.

And for the record, Joe, you may address content issues on your own blog, but you are absolutely the last person on the planet about whose opinion I care regarding the content of mine. So you can shove your suggestions, arising as they do from your inverted morals, up your ass. K?

This is what we have come to expect from our fellow countrymen on the left.

But it IS truly amazing how quickly the left can spin on a dime. One day they call out for “civility” from the right, and lash out at Palin for a website diagram of a target showing a place and claim she was partially to blame for the Arizona shootings.

The next month when someone from the left at an unruly demonstration has a poster of Walker shown in the crosshairs, well, that’s just the brave workers of the world exercising their right to free speech and making their grievances known in an honorable forum.

Hypocrisy and projection. Two of the left’s ugliest traits, and they almost never fail to show them.
