Squaring the Culture

"...and I will make justice the plumb line, and righteousness the level;
then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies,
and the waters will overflow the secret place."

Drive Small Cars, Wait for the Wind

Gaius at Blue Crab Boulevard has a pretty good analysis of Congressional Democrats’ energy strategy from late this week, the centerpiece of which is this too-stunning-to-have-been-invented comment from an unnamed aide:

“Right now, our strategy on gas prices is ‘Drive small cars and wait for the wind,’ ” said a Democratic aide.

I think Americans have not yet entirely recognized that high gas prices are actually a strategy initiated by Congressional Democrats. No, the Democrats didn’t cause the high prices, but they’ve been hoping for them for years, and now that they’re here, they’re deliberately, with full intent aforethought, refusing to do anything about them. They want the pain to be so intense that Americans are forced, forced to produce alternative energy solutions. (The fact that Americans have been working diligently on alternatives for decades somehow can’t penetrate their conscious thoughts.)

However, it’s the unintentional effect that caught my attention, and here, I’m going to reveal some of my wilder thinking. You see, implicit in the “small cars” mentality is a limit on the number of children a family can have. This is a characteristic of a surprisingly large number of “progressive” social policies, and it’s the mark of satan. I’m completely serious about this: satan hates humans. He wants us eradicated. He’ll do it one at a time if he has to, but policies that reduce population quickly are even better.

Call me nuts if you like, but start paying attention to how many “progressive” social policies have the anti-human touch to them. It’ll shock you — and it will give you a clue about the true source and intent of progressive religion.
