A Shot Across the 60s’ Bow
I snatched this fascinating McCain TV ad from HotAir. Watch it, and pay attention to the subtle shots at the 60s mentality: the twist on “love” and the quiet denunciation of self-centeredness. Also notice “he doesn’t tell us what we (pause) … HOPE to hear,” and “Don’t hope for change, vote for it.” He’s clearly angling to steal the “change” issue from Obama. This is a clever ad, but not dishonest in any way that I can detect. I wonder if this is the new campaign staff’s work? How do they think it will play with the Boomers? My guess is that this is a good move.
